Pads and Mitts

How to choose boxing mitts

The choice of boxing mitts depends on three key parameters: padding thickness, shape (straight or curved), and cover material. Curved models follow the natural trajectory of a punch and absorb energy more uniformly — which is why they are preferred for serial work.

Types of mitts and pads

• Focus mitts — for boxing, precise hand strikes, 4-5 cm padding.
• Thai pads — larger and stronger, absorb kicks, knees, and heavy hooks.
• Wall pads — for solo training of strength and accuracy.
• Belly pads — for training body shots during sparring.

What material to choose

PU (polyurethane) mitts are the most affordable and suitable for beginner coaches — easy to maintain, waterproof. Natural leather is an investment for professionals — it lasts over 5 years of active use, absorbs impact more softly, and doesn't crack.

Care for mitts

After each workout, air out the mitts — never leave them in the bag. Once a month, wipe them with a damp cloth and antibacterial solution. With proper maintenance, even a standard PU model lasts 2-3 years.
