Training belts
Using a weightlifting belt can increase your lifting strength by up to 10%. This support is crucial for exercises like squats, deadlifts, and presses, where torso stability is paramount. The belt provides compression around the abdominal area, which increases intra-abdominal pressure. This stabilizes the spine and reduces the risk of injury, allowing you to lift heavier weights and achieve better results.
At SportZone, we offer weightlifting belts designed to withstand intense loads. They are made from durable materials, ensuring longevity and comfort during your workout. The correct choice of belt is essential for the effectiveness and safety of your strength training. Browse our selection to find a model that meets your needs and preferences.

Why you need a weightlifting belt
When you're squatting 200 kg or deadlifting 250 kg, the belt isn't just an accessory. It's like a second skin. It helps stabilize your abdominal cavity. This reduces the strain on your lower back, allowing you to lift more and more safely. I often see people overloading without a belt, then pain keeps them out of the gym for weeks.
How I choose
For me, there are two main options – a leather belt or a neoprene one. A leather belt, especially the thicker 10mm to 13mm ones, is my choice for strength sports. The 10cm width is standard for powerlifting competitions, for example, under IPF or IPL rules. It's important that it's dense, not easily bent. A neoprene belt is more suitable for functional training or fitness, where you're not lifting maximum weights, but rather looking for support and comfort during longer sets. I personally use a 10mm leather belt for heavy squats and deadlifts. I warm up with it, do my working sets, and even get a few more reps out. It's important that it's tight, but doesn't restrict your breathing.
Size is key. Measure your waist circumference. The belt should be snug, not "play around". A belt that fits perfectly will serve you for years. My belts are 10-12 years old, I replace them when the leather starts to crack seriously or the buckle loosens. Price is also a factor, but I prefer to invest once in a quality leather belt for 80-100 €, rather than replacing 3-4 cheap neoprene ones for the same amount.
What we stock
We at the store prioritize quality. That's why we work with brands that I personally trust and use. SZ Fighters is one of our own brands, which we have been offering since 2007. Their leather belts are durable, made with thick leather and stable buckles. We also have accessories from SZ Sport, another one of our brands. Their neoprene belts are very comfortable for lighter workouts or for people who are starting out and don't want to immediately invest in an expensive leather belt. The important thing is that the belt is functional and gives you a sense of security.
A piece of advice from me
Don't rely solely on the belt. Also work on your core. A strong core is your best belt, everything else is just assistance.
